Milkstop is a relaxed neighborhood cafe located in the West End of Lagrange, Illinois.

Imagined by longtime Lagrange chefs, Chris & Mary Spagnola and their partners, Sharon Owens, and Steve & Mary Jo Quirk.

Milkstop is an all-day gathering spot for locals and visitors alike.

 

Our aim is simple: allow for only the freshest ingredients available to inspire

dishes between authenticity and imagination.

 

We will be in the kitchen all day long dedicated

to quality, sustainability, and making your Milkstop experience memorable.

WHY THE NAME MILKSTOP?

​

Over the years, buildings in La Grange have been built

and eventually torn down to make way for

bigger, better, or more efficient buildings.

​

One that still remains since its construction in 1901 is the 700 W. Burlington Ave.

It's a beautiful building that is rich with early La Grange history.

 

The first train to pass through La Grange in 1864 actually originated in Aurora.

The Aurora Branch Rail Road was built at the cost of

one million dollars with the original stop,

a milk stop just east of Brainard Avenue.

With great love for the community of LaGrange,

we opened our restaurant across the street from that original milk stop,

 now Stone Avenue Station,

in the building at 700 W. Burlington, and aptly named it Milkstop.
